Brethren,Wow, what a busy month we had at Solomon’s Staircase. We started out with our October Stated Meeting where we discussed the proposed legislation and Grand Masters decisions. The officers were all back in tuxes and we were all glad that the A/C had been fixed as it was very warm out. Then, it was off to warm and sunny San Francisco. This I can tell you my Brothers with regards to our new Grand Lodge officers; it’s a great time to be a Mason. It is always an adventure attending Grand Lodge and I wish to thank the Brethren for support in allowing me to attend. On the 10th we presented the 2009 Hiram Award to Worshipful Carl J. Cupp in a grand ceremony at the lodge. He was very humble and his family in attendance was very proud of Carl. It was a great time and as it was my first Hiram presentation, it will be safely recorded in my heart. Congrats again my Brother! On the 15th we held a Masonic information night and had four new prospects show up. Hopefully, we will see a few applications soon. Our Crown Jewel for the month was the raising of a long time Fellow Craft to the sublime degree of Master Mason. Brother Mitch Von Shanholtzer was raised on October 22 and was quite relieved to have his 2nd Degree proficiency out of the way. That is until we informed him of the requirements of his 3rd Degree proficiency. Fun was had by all and it was a late but entertaining night to say the least. We finished off the month with another family night where fun was had by all.As a side note; a few Brothers from our lodge we said to be seen lingering around the Black Jack tables at the Colorado Belle in Laughlin Nevada on the weekend of the 16th which also happens to be my birthday. My 50th! Ouch! Yes, 18 of my closest friends, Brothers and family members came together to help me celebrate the big five-O. I would like to tell you more but was informed that ―What happens in Laughlin stays in Laughlin. For the month of November, we again have much on tap (sorry…left over Laughlin thoughts). As you know, our November Stated Meeting is election night so come on down and vote for your 2010 officers. Remember, you must be a Master Mason in good standing to vote. We also have a Veterans Day program and the officers and members of the lodge we be marching in full regalia in the 2009 La Palma Days Parade on Saturday the 14th. On Nov 17 we shall also have our first OSI with the lodges from our newly organized 733 Masonic District.

Fraternally, Chuck Hayes
