Light in Masonry Light in Masonry reminds us that in the beginning, God said, "Let there be light; and there was light." Gen. 1:3. This is one of the first and most important lessons a Freemason will learn, but what is meant by "light"? Is the source a mystery or "secret"? You have undoubtably heard that Freemasonry is a "secret society". The ritual and manner of initiation may be classified as a secret or mystery but everything else that is known about Masonry is available to those who are interested enough to read about the Craft. Nonetheless, there is still a great deal of "light" that eludes even the most ardent Masonic student. Light in Masonry is where you may find quips and tidbits to further enlighten and augment your understanding of the Masonic purpose.
